Teaching philosophy:

As an instructor, I focus on supporting students in the development of their analytical and problem-solving skills. I encourage students to be critical of the material they are learning, such that they can identify the strengths and weaknesses of a given theory, assess the reliability of data used to support this theory, and whether there are other alternative explanations. My goal is that students can clearly articulate their arguments using sound evidence.

I am committed to the creation of an accessible, nurturing, and respectful learning environment. As a first-generation graduate of Chinese-Peruvian origin, I pay particular attention to historically and systemically marginalized students in academia in an effort to create a learning space that is just and that provides equitable opportunities to all students whenever is possible.
